Fredonia alumnus and GRAMMY award-winning teacher-musician Kent Knappenberger will be joining Fredonia performers and friends for a concert benefiting the Knappenberger Scholarship, on Thursday, May 5 at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the scholarship, established through the Fredonia College Foundation, which is awarded to a student from Westfield Academy and Central School who is enrolled at Fredonia.

Performers and works will include Fredonia School of Music faculty Dan Ihasz, baritone, and Angela Haas, soprano; Westfield Academy and Central School teacher Helen Ihasz, flute; alumna and former Westfield music teacher Nannette Knappenberger, singing "Children and Art" by Stephen Sondheim from "Sunday In the Park With George" and "The Princess Song" from "Cinderella" by Mr. Knappenberger; Fredonia acting major and Mr. Knappenberger’s daughter, Lucy, performing a monologue and singing "This Can't Be Me" from "Cinderella;” soprano Emily Parker, a former Fredonia student, performing a Scottish folk song with the Westfield High School McClurg St. String Band, a Celtic/American group; soprano Allison Snavely, a Fredonia School of Music student; the Westfield High School Westwinds, singing "Domine Ad Adjuvandum Me Festina" by Padre Martini, "Fionnguala" by contemporary Irish composer Michael McGlynn, and "Flying Home" by Jason Robert Brown; and more tunes by the McClurg St. String Band, which will be joined by local folk musicians in performing, "Ho Ro Mo Nigh Donn Bhoidheach," a Gaelic folksong; "The Butterfly" and "The Rights of Man,” traditional fiddle tunes; and "Millworker" from "Working" by James Taylor.
