Kevin KearnsKevin Kearns, associate vice president for graduate studies and research at SUNY Fredonia, received the Honors of the Academy of the Neurologic Communication Sciences and Disorders (ANCDS) at the annual meeting in Philadelphia last week– the meeting is held in conjunction with American Speech Language Hearing Association each year.

ANCDS is a professional organization dedicated to promoting quality service to persons with neurologic communication disorders, education of practitioners and, research that contributes to better understanding and management of neurologic communication disorders. It is an ASHA-affiliated organization that has set standards for specialty certification ( beyond ASHA clinical certification). ANCDS has also been responsible for developing evidence based practice guidelines and for promoting research into neurologically based communication disorders.  

In addition to his administrative assignment, Dr. Kearns has a faculty appointment in the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences.
