Cell phones across the Fredonia campus - and across the country - will receive a message during a nationwide wireless emergency alert TEST this week.
The TEST is scheduled for 2:18 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20.
FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) are sending the message to all compatible cell phones. The TEST message will read "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed."
When you receive this message, you do NOT need to call University Police.

This is also an opportunity to make sure you are signed up for NY-ALERT, Fredonia's mass notification system. This is the system used to send urgent weather, safety, or incident notifications to your email, cell, landline, and/or text. (you can decide which platforms you receive the message).
