The celebration of Women History’s Month will continue with David Puts’s talk of “The Development and Evolution of Human Sex Differences” on Thursday, March 29. The speech will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Jewett 101, with free admissions to the public.
This event is sponsored by the Women’s Studies program and the Women’s Student Union under the supervision of Iclal Vanwesenbeeck, director of the Women’s Studies Program.
Puts currently serves as an assistant professor of anthropology at Penn State University. Besides his expertise in the neuroendocrine and evolutionary bases of human behavior, Puts has special interests in human sexuality and sex differences. He is the author of the textbook, The Evolution of Human Sexuality; an Anthropological Perspective.
His researches include sexual selection and the evolution of sexual dimorphism, developmental and evolutionary causes of difference in sexual orientation as well as evolution basis of female orgasm. Puts received his Ph.D. and master’s degree in Biological Anthropology at University of Pittsburgh.
