Kevin Sylvester, host of Sabres Hockey Hotline on WGR Radio (550 AM), will speak to campus and community members on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 5:30 p.m. in the Williams Center's Room 204E. The event is sponsored by the SUNY Fredonia chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Admission is free.

A Fredonia alumnus from the class of 1995, Mr. Sylvester has worked for the Buffalo Sabres since 2005. He is currently the host of “Sabres Hockey Hotline,” a radio show on Buffalo's leading sports station, WGR-AM 550, a member fo the Entercom Radio Group. He is also a veteran broadcaster for the Buffalo Sabres, and has also worked for other pports teams like the UB Bulls, the Buffalo Destroyers arena football team, and the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association.

He has received awards as the “Best Sportscaster” by Electronic News Association of the Carolinas. He also created and hosted “Tee 2 Green” on WGRZ-TV (Channel 2), showcasing many of the top golf courses in the Buffalo/Niagara Region.
