The Fredonia School of Music is planning several special concerts for Homecoming, including the ever-popular Alumni Jazz Concert featuring jazz artists who got their start as students in the Fredonia Jazz Ensemble during the early 1970s. The concert will take place Friday, Oct. 9,. at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall. Admission is free. This renion will feature both former and current Fredonia Jazz Ensemble artists. Compositions and arrangements are by Monk Rowe ’72, Bob Shaut ’73, Don Menza, Thad Jones, John Clayton, Sammy Nestico, and Ernie Wilkins.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10: “Legacies in Words and Music: A Celebration of the Careers of Bob Schweik and Ted Frazeur”; 3:00pm – Rosch Recital Hall – Free.  Reception at 5:00pm

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10: Wind Ensemble: Dr. Paula Holcomb, conductor; 8:00pm – King Concert Hall – Free.  A continuation of the afternoon’s focus on percussion, Dr. Paula Holcomb conducts one of the premiere ensembles in the School of Music featuring Russell Peck’s “The Glory and the Grandeur” with guest soloists The Volta Trio. Other works by David Maslanka, Gustav Holst, J.S. Bach, and Jim Self.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11: The Verdehr Trio;  4:00pm – Rosch Recital Hall - $18 general/$10 students
