The State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) is hosting their annual campaign for employees of New York State, including at Fredonia. The campaign is designed to provide year-round funds to support health and human service agencies who aid people of all ages and backgrounds in the region and statewide.
Facilitated by the United Way of Chautauqua County, the Fredonia Solicitors Brunch will be held Sept. 20 at 9 a.m. in the Alumni House. The deadline for donations to be eligible for the prize drawing is Nov. 20, and the official drawing will be Dec. 7.
Physics professor Justin Conroy is one of the members of the organizing committee. The committee is currently seeking full participation in the campaign. Conroy believes past campaigns have been very successful.
“We have a long tradition of reaching our goal,” he said. “This year our goal is $47,000.”
Donations can be made directly to the agency or will be spread among agencies that need it most.
