Lori Dispenza is congratulated by President Dennis Hefner at the 2011 Veterans Ceremony

Lori M. Dispenza, a U.S. Army Veteran and scholarship recipient at SUNY Fredonia, has been selected to speak May 28 at the 15th annual Memorial Day observance at the Women In Military Service For America Memorial in Arlington, Va.  

Ms. Dispenza will be representing the U.S. Army, with which she honorably served for four consecutive enlistments (12 years) of active duty in the Logistical field. She will be a guest speaker at the ceremony, taking place at 4 p.m. on the Memorial Plaza. Wilma L. Vaught, Brigadier General, United States Air Force, Retired, will be the presiding official for the ceremony.

At SUNY Fredonia, Dispenza is majoring in psychology and minoring in criminal justice.

She is the recipient of the 2011 SUNY Fredonia Veterans Scholarship and the 2011 Smith-Viggiani Veterans Scholarship. She also has a work-study assignment at the SUNY Fredonia Veterans Affairs Office. A resident of Portland, N.Y., she is a 1998 graduate of Brocton (NY) Central School.
