The Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational will add a sixth session when teams embark on the Steele Hall Natatorium in December.
A Friday afternoon session will get the three-day event rolling at noon in Fri., Dec. 1. There will also be a Friday night sessions and two sessions each of the following two days, with slightly different start times than in past years. Eighth other collegiate teams will join the Blue Devils for the championship-style event.
The Blue Devils, coached by Arthur Wang, will have six other meets -- the first five on the road -- before the Invitational. The 2017-18 campaign is set to begin Sat., Oct. 14, at Ithaca College. Subsequent meets at Niagara, Rochester Institute of Technology, Geneseo, and Alfred University will precede the home opener Sat., Nov. 18 vs. Nazareth.
Three other road competitions in January and February -- including the annual journey to Trinity, Texas, by the Blue Devil springboard divers -- will set the stage for the regular-season finale, a home meet Sat., Feb. 10, vs. Cortland. It will be followed by the SUNYAC championship meet over four days at the Flickinger Center in downtown Buffalo.
