Ethos is a student-administrated organization responsible for the presentation of four concerts each season, symposia featuring visiting composers, and field trips to hear new music in surrounding cities. Ethos is committed to the promotion of 20th and 21st century music in Fredonia, including both standard repertoire and compositions by student and faculty composers. Sponsored by the Student Association, Ethos has, since its founding in 1977, actively encouraged the production of new music including the presentation of visiting composers and performers of national and international reputation.

In 2006, Ethos’s contributions were recognized for their excellence in the creative arts. 2006-2007 marks Ethos’ 30th season of active support of new music in Western New York.
