The Music Therapy Club, a student group associated with Department of Music Therapy, will host its annual Music Therapy Awareness Week from Feb. 6 through 10. The awareness week will open with professional therapist Erica Iocco’s presentation on her private practice on Monday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in Mason 2018. An annual interactive recital will conclude the week-long event on Friday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Diers Recital Hall. The entire set of programs is open to the public with free admission.

The Music Therapy Club is a student organization constituted by Fredonia Student Association. It aims to promote profession of music therapy and music therapists.

Monday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in Mason 2018

  • Erica Iocco, a music therapist at the Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center in Buffalo, N. Y., will lead students through her music therapy private practice with preschool and school-aged children during the presentation. Iocco is a board certified music therapist and licensed creative arts therapist with 11-year field experience. She is an alumna of SUNY Fredonia music therapy program (00’) and is currently a clinical supervisor for this program’s students.

Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 4:30 p.m. in Mason 1002

  • Lauren Faggiano, a music therapist at the Pieters Family Life Center in Henrietta, N.Y., will introduce her services with developmentally disabled adults to students in that afternoon. Faggiano has been working as a board-certified music therapist for the past 8 years. She is an alumna of SUNY Fredonia music therapy program program and is graduating from Nazareth College in May with a master’s in creative arts therapy.

  • Joni Milgram-Luterman and Kimberly Mancino invite you to relieve stress with the power of music therapy in their “Music Therapy in Relaxation” program. Milgram-Luterman is the director of music therapy and associate professor of the School of Music at SUNY Fredonia, while she is also a music therapist in private practices. Mancino is an instructor and clinical supervisor of SUNY Fredonia music therapy program. A SUNY Fredonia alumna, she has provided music therapy services to nursing home residents in the Western New York area for over 20 years.

Thursday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in McEwen 209

  • A current graduate student, Cáitlín O'Reilly will lead you through “Journey to Music Therapist Professional”. Currently, O’Reilly is also a full-time music therapist at Hospice Buffalo. She earned a bachelor’s degree in music therapy at SUNY Fredonia in 2010 and is planning to receive her master’s degree in December 2012.

Friday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Diers Rectial Hall

  • An annual music therapy recital will offer you an opportunity to experience, interact and learn about music therapy. The event will be presented by current music therapy students, focusing on profession competencies with musical and clinical examples.
