SUNY Fredonia’s Sustainability House, associated with the student group, Department of Environmental Relations for Student Affairs, has called for a campus cleanup in the campus woodlot on Friday, March 23 at 3 p.m. The event is also sponsored by Sherri Mason, associate professor of Chemistry, Environmental Sciences program coordinator and sustainability coordinator for SUNY Fredonia FACE Center.
The campus is invited to join the action sponsored by the Sustainability House starting at the clock tower. Gloves and garbage bags will be provided at the spot.
Sustainability House is one of four communities for freshmen, which offer opportunities to share common interests with other students and faculty advisors. Students from any major live together in designated suites of Hemingway Hall, with a common space for each living learning community. Sustainability House offers chances to learn about and directly engage in environmental discussions, events, and service initiatives. Participating department and program faculty include the Environmental Sciences, Economics, History, English, Chemistry, Biology, International Studies and Political Science in collaboration with the SUNY Fredonia campus Go Green effort and the Fredonia Academic Community Engagement (FACE) Center.
