From "Junkyard," an animated film by Hisko Hulsing of the Netherlands
The Best of Ottawa Animation Screening, a traveling showcase of many of the most outstanding films from the 2012 Ottawa International Animation Festival, will be presented on Friday, March 15, at 7 p.m., at 101 Jewett Hall. One of the largest international animation conferences and competitions, the Ottawa festival is known for presenting the world’s most cutting-edge, quirky and important animation.
This “Best of” program features a collection of short animated works that stood out as audience favorites and award winners from the official 2012 competition. They include: “Ballpit” (Canada), “A Morning Stroll” (United Kingdom), “The Great Rabbit” (France), “Sunny Afternoon” (Austria), “Rossignols en Decembre” (Nightingales in December) (Canada), “Riviere au Tonnerre” (Thunder River) (Canada), “I am Tom Moody” (United Kingdom), “Gum” (Canada), “Primus ‘Lee Van Cleef’” (United States), “Junkyard” (Netherlands, Belgium) and “Una Furtiva Lagrima” (United States).
The presentation, brought to SUNY Fredonia by the Media Arts Club and Department of Visual Arts and New Media, is touring around the world from November 2012 through mid-September 2013. It is intended for mature audiences and is open to SUNY Fredonia students and staff.
