Department of English Associate Professor Birger Vanwesenbeeck published a tribute to Malcolm Young, the recently deceased rhythm guitarist of legendary rock band AC/DC, in the Los Angeles Review of Books.

The essay, “De Constantia, or Malcolm in the Middle,” which was shared widely on various social media, identifies Mr. Young as "the world's leading non-lead guitarist" whose characteristic strumming style nonetheless influenced millions of guitarists across the globe. Dr. Vanwesenbeeck's full essay may be accessed online.
