SUNY Fredonia will pair up with the League of Women Voters of Chautauqua County on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to host a speaker and film presentation of, “Makers of the Movement: A Presentation on the Legacy of Women’s Rights from 1945 to the Present,” in the Williams Center Room 103B.

Speakers include Marcia Merrins, past president of the League of Women Voters in New York State and Chautauqua County; Mary Beth Sievens, associate professor and chair of the history department at SUNY Fredonia; and Melissa Mallaber, a graduate student in the English department at SUNY Fredonia.

Discussion will be focused on exploring the legacies of struggle for women's rights since 1945, followed by an open discussion of the historical and contemporary implications of the women’s movement.

This event, sponsored by the Women’s and Gender Studies program and the League of Women Voters of Chautauqua County, is open to all campus and community members.
