Welcome to the website of the Health Professions Advising Office at Fredonia. The pages in this site should provide an overview of our program. If you cannot find information here, please email Dr. Ted Lee, chair of the Health Professions Advising Committee and he will work to assist you.
What are the key traits that health professional schools look for in applicants? The traits in successful applicants are very similar to the traits one wants in his or her doctor, dentist, optometrist, veterinarian or pharmacist. Students should be bright, hard working, demonstrate initiative and leadership, be personable and have good communication skills. They should care about the well-being of others. While at Fredonia, students should work to obtain an excellent academic record while getting experiences in the health professions.
At Fredonia, we work to assist students interested in careers in the health professions. Students receive advice from the academic advisors, the Health Professions Advising Committee and Dr. Lee. The health professions club provides a welcoming environment for pre-health students to collaborate and volunteer. Students can earn academic credit for internships with local health care professionals.
Our goal is to create an environment where students can achieve their professional goals. If you are a current Fredonia student or considering Fredonia and have an interest in the health professions, please contact Dr. Lee to discuss your interests and our programs.
