The fall Arts and Sciences Brown Bag Series, “America: 10 Years Later,” concludes on Wednesday, Dec. 7 with a program on “Are We There Yet?: The Pursuit of Happiness and the American Dream.” Keary Howard, Ph.D., will moderate the panel and speak on being a frugalist. The panel discussion will take place between noon and 12:50 p.m. in the Horizon Room in the lower level of the Williams Center.
Other panelists include Don Barnes, Ph.D., who will present on customer delight; Todd Backes, Ph.D., who will speak on physiology and happiness; Jack Croxton, Ph.D., who will address positive psychology; and, Shane Hemmer, a philosophy major, who will offer a historical and generational perspective. The December panel is co-sponsored by the Fredonia Philosophical Society.
The Brown Bag Series offers monthly informal talks featuring new creative and scholarly work by SUNY Fredonia faculty members. Each 30-minute presentation is followed by a brief discussion and refreshments. All lectures are free and open to all campus and community members. Classes are welcome. This year’s series is directed by Teodora Cox, mathematical sciences; Jack Croxton, psychology; Laura Johnson, communication; and, Theodore Lee, biology.
