Hana Gist named
October Student of the Month
Hana Gist, of Williamsville, N.Y., has been named Student of the Month for October by
Residence Life. Hana was nominated for this award by Mark Suida, for strong
academics and numerous contributions, highlighted by Hana’s work as Chair of the BSU
Fashion Show. Mark spoke highly of Hana’s abilities stating “ Hana is an outstanding
intern who does little things such as send thank you notes to program collaborators
without even being asked. She is a true joy to work with.” Hana is a senior majoring in
Political Science.
When asked about her favorite things about Fredonia, Hana wrote ” When I think of my
favorite Fredonia things, I think of self-improvement and self-expression. Over these
past two semesters, I've truly pushed myself beyond my comfort zone, allowing me to
grow in ways I never imagined possible. I’m proud of how far I've come, and I can't wait
to see where this journey will lead me next!” Hana is an intern with the Campus Life
Department and assists with their programing on campus.
The Student of the Month program was implemented in 2003 to recognize students who
are well-rounded, excel in their academics and contribute positively to the campus and
community.
